Spanish Police are looking for an american woman, 41 years old, missing in Spain from April 4, while she's walking the Road of Santiago. Last contact from Denise Thiem was an email send from the Spanish town of Hospital de Orbigo to a friend.
The Road of Santiago is a European ancient religious route by which pilgrims from all over Europe came to Santiago de Compostela to venerate the Apostle's remains preserved in that city in northwestern Spain. Denise Thiem, a US citizen of Chinese origin, had traveled to Spain to follow that route and had reached the province of Leon, near the end of the road, when he disappeared without a trace. The latest news we have of she dating back to the night of 3 to 4 April, when he stayed at an inn in the town of Hospital de Orbigo, in Leon.
From that city, Denise Thiem sent an email to a friend telling him that went to Astorga, his next stop on the route. That was the last time she had news.
